level up your film game with these hacks 📸📷

when i started film, i’ve learnt the typical dos and donts (shoot w flash indoors, etc) but recently i’ve started shooting more consciously and my pictures have been turning out better than ever! here’s some tips & tricks you have to try for your film photos to really stand out and level up your film game 🆙🆙

🧍‍♀️shoot with a subject in mind

rather than shooting just a shop or a landscape, wait for someone to walk in, or focus on an subject (any object that is closer to you!) to give your pictures a deeper meaning/story behind it ✨ shooting random people can be really intimidating, but there’s something different about capturing humans in the moment!!

☀️ use the GOLDEN HOUR GLOW

golden hour (1 hour before and after sunset/rise) is the most magical moment to shoot film. films tend to lean on the warm side and they capture so beautifully the sunglow! some of my favourite pictures ever were shot during golden hour

🏯 capture something uniquely local!

especially when you travel there’s definitely many quirks and unique things about the place that you are at and what better way than to capture it on film and remember the moment!

📷 wait for the right moment

lastly, be patient!! i’m a really impatient person by nature but knowing how much each film roll costs me, i’ve become super conscious of each photo i take. be patient, wait for the right moment, and it’ll all be worth it! (i waited 20 mins for this train to come to capture this picture😩)
