2d1n lazarus camping!

we went camping! 🏕️

beginning of 2023, 8 of my friends and I decided to head to lazarus and spend a night there. it was truly one of the best experience!

always wanting to camp but having been to ECP and Ubin, we decided to try a different location, which is how we ended up buying the ferry tickets on Klook to Lazarus Island.

Klook Tickets to Lazarus Island (Singapore Island Cruise): $14 including of ferry to and fro, and a $3 gongcha voucher 🛥️the ride takes about 30minutes and we took another 20minutes walk with our barang barang to our camping site

technically we have to book in advance to obtain permission but we did not since we were not aware of it 😭😭 there is no allocated camping spot so we decided to pitch our home by the beach so that it will be windier!

we planned to cook a total of only 2 meals, which is dinner and next day’s breakfast. we went groceries shopping and amounted up to $10/pax for both meals which is pretty cheap right?!

lucky one of my friend already has all the camping ware, which includes the table and big ass umbrella, giving us shelter throughout. all of us brought along a chair as well, no there’s no worry about anyone having to seat on the ground.

we were kinda prepared to not shower since u know, it’s camping hahaha but then when we walk towards the toilet to wash our crockery, there’s this 2 uncles who told us that we can use the handicap toilet’s bidet to shower? the uncles looked super fresh as well and when we open the toilet door, it definitely look out a shower room instead with soap on the floor hahahaha 🚿💦

so some of us did shower in the end since very luckily, someone in the group did bring toiletries!

things to note when camping in Lazarus:

⛺️bring along chairs!

⛺️tent is optional as you can sleep on ground but will be subjected to insects

⛺️portable mini fan since it can be a little hot and humid (urgh sg weather)

⛺️shower materials (if only you wish to shower)

⛺️snake powder save lives

⛺️insect repellent

⛺️little to no signal

⛺️fire starter for camp fires

⛺️bring enough water!

we cooked our dinner together and setup camp fires from the branches we collected around. talk under the stars and reminiscence about the past. it was quiet, and with the lack in usage of technological devices, as cliche and cringey as it may sound, we found one another again amidst the “growth and adult” in us 🤍

we took the 12pm ferry back after our breakfast and the most painful thing of the trip is packing up. not because of the hassle of it, but knowing how the escape is coming to an end.

if you and your friends have some time, do plan a short camping trip to Lazarus! it’s so so worth it.
