How to Paint Your Nails At Home (long-lasting) 💅

I’ve been painting my nails at home for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my parents couldn’t afford to take me to get my nails done at the salon, so I had to learn how to do them at home and once I became an adult— this habit stuck with me.

Why pay 100s of dollars each month maintaining your nails when you can learn to do them yourself? Of course, pampering yourself with a nail salon appointment is great but when you are on a budget or want to save money— learning how to do this at home is a MUST.

Following these simple steps will help you learn how to do your nails at home the right way, so that your polish comes out looking as good as it would from the nail salon AND it will last you twice as long as it normally would.

My go-to steps are:

1. Clean and remove old polish with pure acetone.

2. Apply a nail strengthener as your base coat so your nails are strong 💪

3. Apply 2 coats of your favorite polish.

4. Apply a “gel” top coat (this makes a HUGE difference and no light needed)

5. Finish with an instant nail dry top coat.
