What do I do when asked about salary

i thought very hard and long about this if I wanted to reply to an acquaintance who has been checking on my #linkedin profile and then, on last Thursday, decided to PM me.

Since I was out of town, I decided to park my linkedin messages aside from looking for job.

Finally when I responded today, after 1 week, his replies clearly didn't factor in that we stopped talking at the age of 14 where we went into different Science classes. In fact, we hardly spoke because of different vibes but I was the class representative for some subjects.. so.

Anyhow, I checked his LinkedIn and see that the company (top few banking companies) that he is in is going through retrenchment too. and to sustain the pay, #tech is the next place to look for - tadang! But that's just my wild guess - he really might have been looking out for a friend ha.

I have left PayPal since Nov22 and of course, Im in no position to advice on anything related to PayPal and any "insider" news is my news aka not your problem to know.

Plus, I loved my time at the Paypal - why would I want to speak ill of them!? 😒

so, the best bet is to ask acquaintances who would like to find out about

1) your #salary

2) your #bonus

3) your #payincrement

is to direct them to #Glassdoor . They can always ask HR for a gauge and need not check in with someone who is in the system/ already left the system - anyone can also give you a random number la!? 😂😂😂

happy to share more about the environment, the scoping and even the colleagues! but if it's going to be about the pay, I'd tell you, it's good enough to sustain my lifestyle 🙃

if someone turns their back on you for not sharing your pay, kick these people out of your life 🙃 good riddance.
