Outdoor Pre-wed shoot - 5 things I wish I knew!!😩

It was a full day outdoor shoot and just somehow it was super duper hot that day and I was also down with a flu ): here are some things I’m super glad I did / wish I did!!

1️⃣Bring a fan!!!

This is a MUST. It’s incredibly hot to be outdoors in a gown and you really want to reduce sweating so that you don’t ruin your full face of makeup. Make sure it’s a powerful portable fan!! Even some of those Chinese traditional fan can be useful too

2️⃣Tissue and even towel

You need lots of this!! Dry tissue wet tissue or just bring a small towel too to wipe sweat or any dirt or stains

3️⃣2 x nubra in case too sweaty

This was a super smart idea by my makeup artist. Bring 2 sets of nubra in case it gets too hot and you sweat so much that your nubra falls of!!

4️⃣Make wet weather plans!!!

Omg y’all won’t believe it when I say the entire week was sunny but it just somehow started pouring halfway through my shoot. Luckily my vendor also provides indoor shoot option and we just did our second set indoors instead of outdoors. Otherwise we would have to come back another day to do it and that would be so cumbersome!! But nonetheless just make sure to manage your own expectations or make wet weather plans for outdoor shoots!!

5️⃣Umbrella and lots of water

Bring an umbrella in case of run or just to shield the sun in general haha might be a good photo prop too!! Water is a must have!! Hydro flask or whatever that can keep cold water even better!!

Other than the logistics, I feel like the most important thing about doing your PWS is to do your homework in terms of communicating the style you want to the photographer before the shoot but once you’re there for the shoot - just ✨✨LET LOOSE AND HAVE FUN✨✨ Let go of all expectations and just go with the flow. Let your photographer’s creativity flow!

Wedding planning and shoots can be so stressful, so remember to have fun and not let any expectations or ideas of perfection kill the joy 🫶 embrace the experience and any imperfections!!
