1️⃣ START WITH LIGHTER WEIGHTS

It's important to start with weights that you can comfortably handle and gradually increase the weight as you get stronger. Starting with heavy weights could lead to injury and discourage you from continuing with lifting if you cannot get that weight.

2️⃣ FOCUS ON FORM

Proper form is essential for lifting to avoid injury and maximize the benefits of the exercise, especially when it comes to actually hitting the muscle you’re trying to! Take time to learn the proper technique for each exercise and practice with lighter weights until you feel comfortable.

3️⃣ INCORPORATE COMPOUND EXERCISES

Compound exercises, such as squats, deadlifts, and bench press, work multiple muscle groups at the same time and are effective for building overall strength and a good foundation of muscle. Include these exercises in your workout routine.

4️⃣ CONSISTENCY IS KEY

Lifting is a long-term commitment and consistency is key. Set a realistic schedule for your workouts and stick to it. Aim to gradually increase the weight or reps as you progress, but listen to your body and don't push yourself too hard. Working out and achieving your goals isn’t something that you’ll accomplish overnight. It’s about compounding progress over time!
