🟣 The classic Prince film ‘Purple Rain’ was announced to be getting the stage treatment. Exact dates and theater are still to be announced, but it is being written by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (Appropriate), directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz (The Skin of Out Teeth), and will feature the legendary music of Prince himself.

🎭 Audra McDonald is rumored to be starring in a Broadway revival of Gypsy next season, according to a source at the New York Post. Could this be the show that gets her her 7th Tony win?

🌅 The hit revival of Sunset Boulevard starring Nicole Scherzinger, which just finished a sold-out run on London’s West End, will be transferring to Broadway later this year.

💥 The cult-favorite ‘SMASH’ TV show is being adapted into a musical, and will be holding a 6-week industry workshop in the coming weeks. This workshop will star Robyn Hurder, Alex Brightman, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Krysta Rodriguez!

🎢 The 2023 Best Musical Winner Kimberly Akimbo announced that it will be closing on Broadway on April 28th. The production will have played 32 preview performances and 612 regular performances.
