Why I Quit Facebook (and why I love lemon8) 🍋☁️🦋

While I do log on every once in a while on my phone’s browser, I do it just to check on where people are at in life. But it’s also for that very reason but I quit posting probably back in 2021.

At the time I’d also just lost someone close to me which sent me into a spiral, setting me behind where I thought I should be in life. Again, that’s where I THOUGHT I should be. Because while I was grieving and trying to figure out my next steps in life, I was surrounded by friends from high school getting married or having kids or going on amazing adventures. It made me feel this sense of pressure to “catch up”.

Obviously I’m on lemon8 and it could be said that people pose as having a “perfect” life here but really it’s just pretty pictures. Everyone on this app that I’ve come across is so kind and knows that life isn’t a race meant to be ran alone. People here help to raise one another up.

I appreciate everyone and every post I come across here a whole lot more than any post on Facebook.
