Hey, so I am currently 27 weeks pregnant with my baby girl & this is what I am approved for on WIC. I normally get all my WIC items at Kroger, since their produce section is always amazing to me! I don鈥檛 get EBT, so anything else I buy is out of pocket; so I鈥檓 lucky that I can get WIC. I budget my paychecks by taking $50 out every 2 weeks for food I will have to buy out of pocket. Everything I else I budget and make sure I can cover with WIC. A few tips and tricks will be below 猬囷笍 猬囷笍 猬囷笍

- Fruit & Veggies: I always look for good organic produce, certain things I don鈥檛 mind because I want to stay in my $52 budget for WIC. Also note that you can get frozen fruit and veggies, also can good fruit & veggies within the $52 limit as well. However I prefer fresh!!

- Bread & Egg: I always get the good bread either Sara Lee or Nature鈥檚 Own 鉂わ笍 However you can also get 16oz brown rice or pasta in substitute of bread! For the eggs they only have 2 that are WIC available, so I grab what they have (not too picky on that)

- Cheese: I normally get a different one every time lol. Mild Cheddar, Pepper Jack, Mozzarella, Provolone, & etc. Whatever I can get on WIC. I normally write a grocery list prior to leaving to see what cheeses I have at home that I haven鈥檛 used, and make note of what I would prefer. I have a cheese grater that I use to make shredded cheese 馃

- Cereal: There are a lot of choices that you can use for your 36oz of cereal! I get Special K & Cheerios the MOST!! However I also got Cream of Wheat, Grits, & Oatmeal so that now I can have a variety. I bought honey, granola, & chia seeds out of pocket for toppings. & you can always add fresh fruit such as banana鈥檚, blueberries, & strawberries! Even top with peanut butter!!

- Peanut 馃 Butter: I get 16oz of peanut butter! & this is so good because I use a lot of it. With my apples, oatmeal, sandwiches, protein shakes and etc. It鈥檚 really good to just have in the house!

- BEANS 馃珮: So there actually are a lot of choices that you can get depending on the store you go too. Chickpeas/Garbanzo beans, black beans, kidney beans, pinto beans, white beans, & so many more. They give you the option to pick 64oz bag or 64oz can. I chose can because it鈥檚 more convenient for me! I use beans on top of my salads, & I鈥檓 always making a bean soup (especially in the cold months), or even a Chili!

- Juice: So this is an easy but hard one. Hard because what FLAVOR do I get lol! When picking juice you just have to make sure that it says 100% juice! I normally get cranberry, apple, or grape. & I haven鈥檛 seen orange juice on WIC, so o always pick that up separately!

- Milk: You can get 7 Containers of Milk. However my boyfriend does not drink milk at all, nor does he eat cereal. So it鈥檚 just me, & I prefer silk mainly because regular milk messes with my stomach! I only go through 4 maybe 5 & even I need more it鈥檚 still on my WIC card so I can just go grab it! I don鈥檛 take what I don鈥檛 need because there are other people who have WIC, EBT, & even spend cash on soy milk. So no need to have an empty shelf to let it spoil at home.

- Yogurt: CHOBANI is my go to brand because mainly it is name brand. However it鈥檚 like $8 out pocket and WIC covers it so why not. They have so many different flavors. Strawberry, Cinnamon & Honey, Vanilla, Plain & etc. I do love the plain yogurt because I also use it as a sour cream, or top it on my everything bagel! However you can also get Yoplait, and Store Brand.

WHAT I BUY OUT OF POCKET: $50 LIMIT!!!!

- Protein: Chicken, Turkey Meat, & Salmon

- Pasta: Protein Chickpea Pasta Noodles, & Ramen

- Condiments & Seasoning (As Needed)

- Snacks: Chocolate, beef sticks, chips & etc (I only spend $10 here so it鈥檚 definitely LIMITED)

- Water & Ollipop, Zevia or Poppi (Whatever is the cheapest or on sale)
