During my pregnancy, my teeth shifted & I felt SO insecure about it once I had Lo postpartum. I told my dentist & he told me a solution that I hadn’t thought about: composite veneers. Different than standard porcelain veneers, composite allows to use most of your natural teeth with some added material to achieve the desired look that you want. I weighed the cons & pros of both porcelain veneers and composite and eventually decided that composite was the way I wanted to go! They do have some cons though:
Cons of composite veneers :
- They don’t last as long as porcelain & need to be redone every 5-8 years
- If not careful, composite veneers can chip and stain very easily
But the pros FAR outweighed these for me,
Pros of composite veneers:
- You DONT have to shave your natural teeth down. This was a big one for me, I didn’t want to shave my teeth and my dentist actually refused to since it was not needed
- They are easily reversible if you want to change them ad a later date
- Sometimes they look more natural than porcelain veneers
- Less abrasive on your natural teeth overall which minimizes potential damage
I’ve had than so far for a little over a month & I’m SO glad with my decision and have been loving them so far 🤩 Taking care of myself before I had my daughter was always a priority & I am determined to be the best mama I can be while still taking care of myself too! #compositeveneers #blacklemon8creator #postpartumhealth #mommymakeover #selfcareideas #selfcaretips #girlmom #blackgirlslemon8 #blackgirllemon8 #30something
