*NOT sponsored* Virgin Voyages Cruise Review

Here’s some quick takeaways from my first experience on a Virgin Voyages’ cruise.

*BTW: I’m a big-time foodie, so a majority of my travel (and reviews) are centered around food. But I’m going to try my best to make this a more generalized post (and not so food-focused 😆)

👍Pros:

- I had a central sea terrace room. It had a lot of hanging storage options and TWO full length mirrors. Oh! And that hammock on the balcony was EVERYTHING 😍I practically lived in that thing.

- More elevated “cruise food” options. For instance, their ice cream station was more than your typical 2-3 flavor offerings. Virgin has gourmet ice cream & sorbet (that I ate practically almost everyday of our 4-day vacation lol especially the mango sorbet 🥰).

- I loved visiting the more off-the-beaten path destinations (for cruise ships). Don’t get me wrong, a lot of cruise lines have the Bahamas as one of their ports. But it’s usually Nassau (New Providence). I enjoyed visiting the less frequently visited island of Bimini. I’ve never seen more clearer, blue water in my life.

- Virgin’s focus on sustainability! We all know how wasteful “traditional” cruises can be — starting with food waste, carbon emissions, etc. I love that Virgin has done away with buffets to cut down on waste, along with not having one-use plastics. They even upcycle plastic from the oceans to make the passenger bracelets that act as “keys” to the room. Oh! And the in-room trash is separated by recyclable vs non-recyclable— definitely my first time seeing that on a cruise. Anywho, I could literally go on and on about this topic but I won’t (to save you from my soapbox lol)

🤔Cons:

- The app. Virgin has ALOT of room for improvement as far as their app goes. The connectivity was sooooo spotty and glitchy.

- The pool. I see what they were trying to do here (to make it multi-use for performances) but….. yeah no. The main pool was so teeny tiny. I didn’t have a chance to get in because it was always crowded (minus at night when it was chilly and on port days).

Other than that, I have no complaints. All of the staff was friendly. The other passengers were respectful. It was a good vacation to relax and reset.
