Susitna River

April Bowl Trailhead

2 mile hike in Hatcher’s Pass. You hike the mountain and get a gorgeous view of the surrounding mountains and the natural lakes below.

Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge

From the back of the lodge you could catch a glimpse of the beautiful Denali mountain range.

Whittier

Beautiful rivers, waterfalls, glaciers, and boating areas to see. Such a beautiful area to visit in Alaska. The drive to Whittier is beautiful and you even get to go through the longest tunnel in North America!

Independence Mine State Historical Park

An old abandoned mine you can walk around. They have buildings that were preserved to walk through. You get to catch a glimpse of what life was like for the miners back in the day. This is also located in Hatcher’s Pass.

Matanuska River

Beautiful river with some pretty river rocks you can collect. If visiting the river please be careful. It is a very dangerous river.

Reflections Lake

Beautiful walk around the lake. Everything reflects off of the water. The trail takes you around Reflection lake and right next to Matanuska river. Some great picture spots along the way.

Gold Cord Lake

Located in Hatcher’s Pass. 1-1.5 mile hike up the hill. The lake is absolutely gorgeous. It was a little foggy when we went up but still breathtaking.

Potter Marsh Wildlife Viewing Boardwalk

A boardwalk that takes you out across the marsh. You can see birds and other wildlife. While we were there we got to see 2 baby bald eagles!
