Lilac oak is a 𝟏𝟎𝟎% 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 and 𝐯𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐧-𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲 cafe situated in between Somerset and Dhoby Ghaut. They serve wholesome sweet and savoury items at an affordable price. 🤩

This is definitely one of the best taro tart that I’ve tried. The taro paste was soooo thick and creamy 🥹 It’s minimally sweetened and tasted very natural!! The crust wasn’t buttery but it wasn’t dry either. I really liked it!! It’s cleaner on the palate and perfect for the purists. 🤪 I find it slightly expensive for the price but it’s honestly really good.

I can’t decide which one I liked better… this was really good too 🤤 The black glutinous rice added a nice chewy texture and coconut fragrance to it. Honestly, just get both!!!

I loved their waffles!! It had a crispy exterior and was slightly chewy on the inside 🫶🏻 It was more savoury compared to sweet and really fragrant too! I got the Pistachio and Black Sesame gelato but I found them pretty mild in flavour 🫣 The pistachio was nutty and milky but I would have preferred it to be more intense. I also found the black sesame to be on the sweeter side. I liked the thick and creamy consistency of the gelato tho.

This was so nutty and fragrant. 🤤 It was stuffed with grilled tempeh, housemade peanut sauce and lots of fresh veggies. The grilled tempeh was very palatable and doesn’t have the beany taste. The housemade peanut sauce made it a lot more flavourful!

This was really refreshing! The sweetness was just right and I love the tanginess. There were also bits of mixed berries and strawberry popping pearls which gave it a burst of flavours.
