How-to: Landscape Photos (Quick & Easy Sony Guide)

How can I begin taking Landscapes, right now?! 🌄🏞️

What are the settings or modes can I access in order to take them? ⚙️

If you haven’t learned Manual yet and want to jump in some of the cool features many modern day cameras have to offer.

There is 2 modes I would like to share with you to get started shooting Landscapes (and a bit of learning, too!)

This guide specifically follows Sony but is essentially the same on any modern camera.

1️⃣ Go through your modes and look for SCN. This selection will bring up a variety of options for each scenario you may find yourself in and the type of photo you want.

2️⃣ Once clicked, look for the mountain icon ⛰️

This indicates the “Landscape” option and will automatically prioritize settings for Landscape Photos.

❔ Let’s say you want to see how this works though… You can do so by going back pressing the “Mode” button and this time, go to the “A” selection. This is the aperture, which controls depth-of-field (Plane of view) is in focus.

If there is a subject in your photo, the lower the number of Aperture the less focus your background will have.

The higher the number, the more focus you will have of your background alongside your subject. Try it out!

Move back and forth when there are clouds in the sky. You can see them appear and disappear! ☁️
