"All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr is truly a great novel that delves into the experiences of its characters, highlighting the intricacies of morality, survival, and the pursuit of knowledge against the backdrop of World War II.
Doerr uses a dual perspectives throughout his book between a blind French girl, Marie-Laure, and the young German orphan, Werner. This provides a unique lens through which to view the complexities of the war, from two completely different perspectives and cultural backgrounds. Certainly a book you’ll want to read through and that gives you a bit of hope and optimism at the end.
The new show is coming to Netflix so make sure to catch the book before that!
