Setting: Jasper, North Carolina 🌳

The Farrow women are known for their flower farm and a mysterious curse that has plagued their family for generations. June’s mother, Susanna Farrow, suddenly disappeared, rumored to have gone mad, leaving her to be raised by her grandmother. It has been a year since June has started seeing and hearing things but she has decided the curse is going to end with her, by foregoing a family of her own. A door, that she thought she was a hallucination, repeatedly appears and disappears to June. When she realizes she can touch it she decides to walk through the door and ends up changing her and her family’s life forever. 🚪

This is probably one of my least favorite reads of the year. I did not enjoy it. I found most of the book incredibly boring with the exception of the last 30 pages. 😴

I felt like I didn’t really connect with any of the characters. Which made me just really not care about them. 🤷🏽‍♀️

This book reminded me a little bit of the Hallmark show, The Way Home. I like some magical realism but this book wasn’t it for me. 🪄
