Sad girl lit has entered the chat! This unofficial subgenre is usually characterized by a single female MC navigating the waters of her life aka "no plot, just vibes". Though the genre can fall within others (literary fiction, horror, thriller, science fiction, etc), the common denominator is a plot or narrative argument that emphasizes the ways in which gender norms, constructs, and expectations impact our experiences. The first two books here are still on my TBR but the last is one I can absolutely vouch for! LMK your favorite "sad girl" books!
