Nonfiction For Dummies

Just kidding. I'm a firm believer that all books teach us something whether it's practical or emotional. I'm a very big fiction reader and usually prefer memoirs when I venture out into the non fiction world. But this book was the first nonfiction book I read that made me want to read more.

I was a 2012-2014 tumblr kid so I'm no stranger to John Green. Some of my most vivid high school memories revolve around me and a bunch of other teenage girls sobbing over Augustus Waters. So much so that I swore I was going to give my child the middle name August 😐.

The Anthropocene Review is an emotional essay collection where Green talks about various aspects of the world and how they've affected him. At the end of each one he rates the topic out of 5. He switches from making you snort into your coffee to making you cry in public with little warning. You'll be sure to learn something about the world and also yourself along the way.
