Exclusive Wine Tasting in Napa Valley

As we planned our trip to Napa and I sourced recommendations from friends, everyone raved about Brown Estate and made it clear this was an absolute must try for our time in Napa. Boyyyyy they were not wrong! We had such a lovely time at the Brown Estate Tasting Room in downtown Napa; it was our first and favorite stop in Napa.

The tasting room is on the second floor of the old Napa Register building with no noticeable sign. When you enter you feel like you’re coming into an exclusive members only club; the tasting room is sleek and hip with a speakeasy-like ambiance. I am not sure what her official title is but Lex took care of us during our time there and she made our visit so special by really helping us understand the wines and the story behind each. She was my wine spirit guide and I’m grateful for her time with us. As I’ve shared before, I’m not a big wine drinker but the wines at Brown were so good that I think I might be on a new wine loving journey.

It is important to note that Brown Estate is not just the first and only black-owned estate winery in Napa but they have remained a family owned business. For almost 30 years they’ve been killing it in an industry where less than 1 percent of all U.S. wineries are black-owned, and that alone is worth checking them out!

If you’re planning a Napa trip here’s my itinerary recommendation: schedule a pre-lunch tasting. Order the Furthermore Flight… my favorite was the 2019 Eastside Zinfandel, the more you drink the better it gets. Then walk down the street for lunch at Gott’s Roadside.
