What to do in Rochester on a weekend getaway

One of the best and most underrated weekend getaways in the Northeastern United States is Rochester, New York!

George Eastman Museum

This photography museum is one of my favorites I’ve ever been to! Housed in the former mansion of the father of the “Kodak Moment,” George Eastman. Kodak cameras used to be made in Rochester!

You can see exhibits with historic cameras, photos, film archives, and the mansion itself! $22

The Strong National Museum of Play

The most fun museum we’ve ever been to and a must for video game lovers! This is a popular museum for families since there are great spaces for kids to play. Don’t have kids? We don’t either and had the BEST time! Don’t miss the arcade and Video Game Hall of Fame! $24-30

Historic Sites not to miss!

There are several sites dedicated to Rochester resident Susan B. Anthony, the most famous suffragist and the Father of the Civil Rights movement, Frederick Douglass.
