For those who don’t know, I just spent the past three weeks, traveling by myself backpacking around Europe. It was so much fun, but also a little daunting. I had to pack very carefully, and make sure that I would be comfortable while I traveled. Here are just a few of my travel essentials that got me through my trip. I don’t know what I would’ve done without them.

1. I already have a post about what I keep in my Lululemon belt bag, but I can’t stress enough how important this bag is, and how much I love it. It felt super secure and safe with the cross body function, and it held everything that I needed. It also fit with all of my outfits and was great for dinner and hiking alike.

2. Next we have the Clifton 8 shoe from Hoka. I walked close to 10 miles a day while I was traveling. I needed to make sure that I had good shoes on my feet that I could trust. These shoes were excellent. They were comfortable, stylish, and light. I used these shoes every single day and I’m so glad that I picked them as my main pair of shoes for this trip.

3. Before leaving for this trip, I needed a bag to hold all of my clothing. After a little research, I found that the Patagonia black hole bag would fit as a carry-on for all flights and it got great reviews. I purchased this right before I left, and was a little nervous, having never used it before, but let me tell you that this bag was a game changer. It held all of my clothes that I needed for three weeks and was easy to carry around whether I wanted to wear it as a backpack or as a traditional duffel bag. I was able to take it as a carry-on for every single one of my flights, and because of its soft sides I was able to really squeeze in all the clothes and things that I brought. I would highly recommend this bag for anyone who is looking for a new carry-on, or might be backpacking through Europe in the near future.

4. This little basic hair clip I used almost every single day. Whether I was hiking or exploring museums, keeping my hair off my neck, and out of my face in the European heat was essential. It looked good and held up through everything. Every person with long hair needs a hair clip like this.

5. I love my Apple Watch. Having it for this trip was great. It kept track of my steps. It made me feel safer because I knew that it was tracking my location and it allowed me to stay hands-free and keep my phone in a safe and secure place while I was out and about. It was an excellent addition, and I already always wear it in my every day life but I loved having it while I traveled.
