Six cool things your iPad can do! ✨

iPads have some neat features that aren’t always well known or talked about. Some of these features have big impacts and can really change how we utilize our iPads, especially for productivity. Here’s six little features that iPads can do that I love:

❣️ Automatically open Apple Notes while display is off - have you ever needed to quickly write something down? You can do that on the iPad without having to go through the trouble of unlocking it, trying to find the app you need. Simply take your pencil and scribble on the screen, even while it’s off and it automatically opens up a blank note for you!

❣️ Split View/Slide Over - In Settings under Multitasking and Gestures, make sure Multitasking is turned on. With this feature turned on, you can have two apps open side by side. With slide over, you can move your second opened app around on the screen to your preferred location. The possibilities with this are endless - read and take notes at the same time, browse and chat, whatever you want.

❣️ Scan documents - if you’ve ever needed to scan something but don’t have a scanner - your iPad has you covered. Simply open up a blank note in Apple Notes, tap the camera, then tap Scan Document. You can take a picture of a document and it auto corrects and imports it as a PDF. I’ve also used this feature to scan photos and art. It surprisingly works really well!

❣️ Accessibility Shortcut - you can actually assign a function to triple tapping your home button. You can set this up by going to Settings, Accessibility, then Accessibility Shortcut.

❣️Print to PDF - technically, this isn’t an iPad unique feature but it’s very useful on the iPad especially if you use it to take notes, journal, and etc. You can save anything to PDF. Say you want to quick add a page from Wikipedia to your notes. Simply hit Share, Print, Share again, and then there you can save the page as a PDF.

❣️ Gestures - gestures are AMAZING at really streamlining how you use your iPad. It makes things so much more seamless, quick, and easy. My favorite gesture is three fingers for copy and paste and I have one I set up to swipe from the left corner to take a quick screen shot. You can view and set these up in Settings, Multitasking and Gestures.
