honestly…. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this experience if you couples (or even friends or family!) are going to Kyoto!

This place is rather easy to find as long as you follow google maps! But remember to go up the stairs then you’ll reach the rental place, it’s not the one on the first floor!

ok so on to the experience… booking through klook was rather seamless so you get to select a time slot and that’s it! on the day itself we headed to the place as early as we could because once it gets slightly later, more people come in and it’s harder to have space to choose your kimono because it’ll get crowded!

they will sign you in and off you go to pick your outfit! so the people there can speak english and Chinese as well, I think some girls that worked there were Taiwanese if I am not wrong. Once that’s done we will get brought into the changing room. So this is where they help you with the kimono! Fun fact…. They kind of ask you to just strip there with other people (same gender of course) because there’s no other changing room it’s just one big room so in case anyone is not comfortable just take note hahaha I mean you still have ur undergarments so you’re not like nude. They will help you to wear the kimono because it’s impossible to do it yourself there’s way too many steps to do I just.. lost count.

After that they bring you to the vanity area where there are some hairstyles you can pick from! I paid extra $10 bucks or something because I really like one of the paid hairstyles 🥹 but it turned out SO GOOD I loved my hair that day

once thats all done we were left to head off to explore the area! our contacts will be shared with the assigned photographer and they will meet us at a designated spot they want to take photos at!

The photographer we had was a lady from china and we kind of conversed in Chinese throughout instead of English. I think she’s okay with English as well, plus they do check what language you speak before assigning the photographer so no worries!!

she’s super nice and brought us to so many places to take photos! She guided us with lots of poses because me and my partner were two extremely awkward 🥔

The photos turned out sooooo good! served as a great memory for us - made me promise myself I want to engage photography services at different countries we visit next time for the memrs 🥹🥹🥹

she even recommended some food places bc we were kind of struggling with food options. Out of topic but so many places at gion district required booking so if you don’t have one there’s not much dining options left sadly.

after that we bid goodbyes and she told us she will send a gdrive with all the photos afterwards! I think klook description mentioned 50 digital copies but she sent us everything she took which was really nice!

after exploring the area for a bit more we headed back to change out even though you get the rental for the whole day till evening iirc! can’t walk properly hahahahahahaha but that’s just us so…. yeah

anyways all in all, VERY FUN 🤩 and HIGHLY RECOMMEND to splurge on this!!!
