Singapore ✈️ Taiwan • 8 days 7 nights

🇹🇼 MID FEB - END FEB 🇹🇼

Free and easy itinerary so we had a rough outline of where we wanted to go and added or removed places inpromptu! But this trip was a relatively chill one so there’s defo opportunities to add more places!

✈️ China Airlines

Tried China airlines this round and it costs around $400 sgd for return flight. I think the price is generally affordable since meals were included!

3/5 ⭐️ overall plus point for food but minus points for seats bc they weren’t that comfortable. The flight to Taiwan was alright but back to sg the seats were so small and I don’t know why I kept sliding off the seats so the entire flight was super uncomfortable. Overall ok since it wasn’t a long haul flight!

Day 1️⃣

SG -> Taoyuan

📍 Hotel Kuva Chateu

📍 Zhongli night market

Landed in the evening so we only managed to check in and head to 1 night market in taoyuan. Hotel was pretty and clean and the toilet was huge! Really enjoyed my stay though it was only 1 day. The night market had a lot of people and food was yumz. I saw someone pushing a live pet duck with clothes in the pram so that was really cute!

Taoyuan -> TaiChung

📍 Settle down in Airbnb

📍 National science and technology museum

📍 Shenji new village

📍 Fengchia night market

Booked the HSR on klook because there was 1-1 deals so do check it out! Headed over to Taichung for the next few days and we booked an airbnb.

Highly recommend shenji new village because it has a lot of pretty things to see, it’s like a pop up market so if you’re a fan do check it out! There were also buskers so plus points for that! We’re in tw so obv we will check out all the night markets!

Day 3️⃣

📍 Cingjing farm

📍 Sun moon lake

📍 Yizhong Night Market

We also booked a private driver in Taichung for day 3 so he could bring us to cingjing farm as well as sun moon lake! Cingjing farm had a lot of cute sheeps and you get to feed them as well! There were also cherry blossoms 🌸 while we were there so it was really pretty! After that we explored the area a lil and headed over to sun moon lake for cycling. Wanted to catch the sunset but sadly there weren’t any for the day. Ended the night off at the night market again.

Day 4️⃣

So…. I wouldn’t really recommend Taichung second market cos it’s like a traditional market with just food. I think we went at an awkward timing so majority of stalls were closed. I think they had pretty famous food but we were too full so didn’t do much there. Kongzi temple was surprisingly empty on the day we went and there was only a couple doing their pre wedding shoot. Headed to night markets again hahahaha we just ate dinner everyday at night markets and shop around! Fair bit of shopping can be done tho I would say they are not as cheap as it used to be anymore! Some areas even have really pricey clothing for a night market ($50sgd +++) pls take note!!

📍 Zhongxiao night market

Theme park day 5! I think it’s quite a small theme park but not bad it’s pretty fun hahahhaha and again we ended the day at a night market!

Day 6️⃣

Taichung -> Taipei

📍 Green world zhonghua hotel

📍 National chiang kai shek memorial hall

📍 Raohe night market

After a couple days in Taichung we headed back to Taipei. I think there’s a distinct difference between the vibes of the 2 places - Taipei is defo busier and Taichung has a chiller vibes. HSR back to Taipei and we went to visit the memorial hall. We missed the performance so do take note of the timings of their performance! Once again ended the day at raohe night market. This market has sooooooo much food.

Day 7️⃣

📍 Shifen old street

📍 Jiufen old street

📍 Ximending

Again we engaged a private driver for the day since jiufen and shifen were away from town! The driver is super friendly. I think the drivers in Taiwan are all really nice, they are not just drivers but our tour guide and photographer as well! So I think it’s pretty worth plus they bring you to good and cheap food rather than touristy food areas yknow. Oh and also it was raining so he gave us ponchos and water as well! Went to see the waterfall, did the basic tiandeng stuff hahaha and just explored the area. Ended the day at ximending! Last min shopping before going to back to sg.

Forgot to mention but we stayed at green world hotel for Taipei. I think it’s very affordable but the rooms are very very small. It is walking distance from ximending and we weren’t there for too many days so that’s ok. But yeah I think personally I wouldn’t go back to this hotel unless it’s just a 1/2 days stay.

Overall 10/10 I love Taiwan 🇹🇼 love love all the luroufan
