Pump the brakes on religion commenting

Here’s the deal. I don’t post often, and I don’t hate on those posting about their religion. But I am so over people commenting on others posts about their religion. I’ve ignored it until today. I opened this app to find a comment on one of my posts “Jesus saves” mind you this was a post where I was in striped overalls in almost every picture. I strongly believe in faith, however, I also strongly believe in not commenting on others posts about your personal faith. Especially when you don’t know their beliefs.

What you may not know about me:

I am a practicing Soto Zen Buddhist, born and raised. I am living through my own battles as we all are, but I maintain a constant admiration for the balance in the world, the ups and downs, the giving and receiving, etc. even in everyday life. I have a deep love for my religion, and I do not hold any resentment towards other religions.

Religion is a beautiful thing. But I do wish I wouldn’t see comments on posts of me simply sharing my adventures telling me “Jesus saves” or any other statement similar to the one above. Personally, I do believe in a higher power some you call it god, karma, or fate. I choose not to put a label on it.

I’m tired of being told I’m going to hell for having my beliefs. And to be quite frank I’d assume people using religion as a weapon would end up there because they’re being disrespectful and inconsiderate. (I also know little to nothing about the Bible don’t come after me, this is strictly moral)

Long story short: it’s 2024, almost 2025 and we still have people pushing people towards religions they aren’t associated with. Why? We need to grow up and accept our differences.
