How To Start Solo Backpacking

Just over a year ago, I began solo backpacking around the world and here is how I would reccommend to get started doing the same.

1. Start saving.

Unfortunately traveling the world costs money, a lot of it that is, so as you considering doing this start setting aside a chunk of your paycheck specifically for travel. Depending on where you are going, how long you are going, personal spending habits and other factors, the amount of money that you save will be different.

2. Research.

Another bit of traveling that can be quite grueling but very neccessary is researching. This includes figuring out where you want to go, for how long, what accommodation is available, how you are going to get from point A to point B, how much flights costs, what gear you will need, and so many more factors.

3. Book the flight.

This can sometimes be the hardest of the three! Although I love booking flights, it can feel like such a large committment at the time and very scary.
