My favorite things to do in Austria

Austria is SOOO underrated. This country has won my heart. It’s so beautiful and the people are so friendly. A little tip, Austria is super expensive compared to the states, so make sure to do your research before visiting! Here are a list of my favorite things I did while visiting Austria:

1. Visit Hallstatt. Hallstatt is a very popular tourist destination in Austria for good reason. The historic and colorful buildings and villages, and beautiful Mountain Views will blow your mind. Make sure you wear comfy shoes because this requires a LOT of walking. Also bring some extra cash to go shopping at the cute boutiques and stores.

2. Go enjoy some nature by hiking in Shafberg. These mountains are a part of the Alps and it is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It’s completely free to visit Shafberg, not including vehicle costs, etc. It takes a few hours by car to get to Schafberg, as it’s an enclosed private village. Make sure you dress comfy and warm because it gets very cold and it requires a lot of hiking. 10/10 experience.

3. I have never went paragliding in my life up until my visit to Wolfgangsee. This town is so cute, filled with historic buildings, a beautiful lake, and so many photo opportunities. Paragliding cost about 150$ usd per person, but it was so worth it.

4. Take advantage of the cute cafes and restaurants on the coast of Wolfgangsee lake. We found the cutest local cafe and had some delicious pastries and tea, with amazing views!
