I LOST MY VOICE, right before opening

I booked this job which required me to act and sing and I was so excited. I went to rehearsals for 4 days, and right after opening, I lost my voice 😭😭😭

I've been doing vocal rest for almost a week and had to cancel my first shift. I am honestly devastated.

In part because I didn't get to perform, but in part because I felt that I was to blame. Maybe I should've taken into account my acid reflux, or I should've worked on my technique (I didn't have a vocal coach at the time). I felt embarrassed that I was the only one to lose her voice, the first week!

Anyways, I'm practicing grace. These things happen even to professional singers, and it's just a warning sign from my body to be careful and not push it. To work on technique and to watch my health.

Today I'll sing, and we'll see how it goes 🥹
