Knowing It’s Time For a Breakup (Friendships)

Friendship breakups can oftentimes feel just as bad (if not worse) than an actual breakup. 😔 But, there are times where they are necessary and need to happen, especially if the friendship is placing a toll in your life or is toxic.

Here are some signs that it’s time for a friendship breakup:

–They are “takers” and never “givers” : if you feel depleted every time you are with them, then you might want to ask yourself if that is a person you want or need in your life. True friends should fill up your cup as much as you fill up theirs.

– You feel obligated: if you feel like meeting up or helping them is an obligation or feel pressured into doing so, then something is off. Maybe cutting of connection is the best thing for your both.

–You’ve grown apart: maybe you met when you both had similar things going on in life and connected that way, but now you are at different phases and can’t seem to find a common ground. Sometimes realizing that friendships are meant to serve a purpose for a season vs. for a lifetime is healthy and freeing. 🕊
