today im being vulnerable and usually i try to hide this, especially on the internet. the internet and social media are both places most people want to present their “best version of themself” on, and that’s the same as me. when i used to have instagram, i’d spend so much time editing out EVERY imperfection, every bump, every pimple, every scar. it was so bad to the point where every time i would see an unedited version of myself, i would hate it. i would hate my belly, my skin, and everything else i would edit.

i hated the fact that i wasn’t perfect and it constantly made me compare myself to every other woman on the platform. i would ask myself “why doesn’t my body look like hers” or “why doesn’t my skin look like hers”… and i never truly realized how unhealthy and how terrible that was. i wish i could’ve told myself in the past that everything would be okay. lemon8 is a safe space for me and i hope one for you as well.

as im aging and getting older, i realize that my skin is okay even with pimples. my skin will be okay and just because i have acne or acne scars doesn’t mean im less beautiful compared to those who dont. even on my worst days, i am beautiful. even on YOUR “worst days”, YOU are BEAUTIFUL. this a place and time for us to grow as individuals. we are all beautiful, please believe it. everything will be ok 🩷
