R/s advice from my 7 year relationship💌

My fiancé and I just turned 7 last week so I thought I’d share some tips on how we maintain our long term relationship👩‍❤️‍👨

1. Communication is key

Making time to chat with each other every night has gone a long way for us. Not only are we informed about each other’s lives, but we are also able to learn more about each other through our conversations. Despite talking for years, there’s always something new to learn about each other every day.

2. Never go to bed angry

Whenever we argue, we make it a point to resolve our issues before going to bed. This can be difficult at times but you’ll look back and thank yourself for it. Often times, we let our emotions take control of us and after cooling down we regret our actions but it’s already too late. By reconciling before ending the day, you stop the negative emotions from growing and snowballing into a point of no return.

3. Always make time

Nothing beats spending quality time with each other especially when that’s our love language. Even if it’s just going out for a simple meal, we cherish every moment together because it’s just so precious. We also make it a point to meet up at least once a week despite our busy schedules and make sure we give our full attention when we’re spending time together.

To sum it all up, relationships require time and effort from both sides. Remember that no relationship is perfect and every relationship is different. Most importantly, embrace the journey of loving and growing together as relationships are always a work in progress.
