I had Alopecia or loss of hair during the end of 2020 due to stress and hormonal imbalance. It was so bad that I had 3 giant bald spots. 😩 Luckily, I could cover it with my then long hair so nobody could tell.
I sought medical assistance to help me deal with it. 👩⚕️ I went to a derma for hair growing procedures like PRP and anti-inflammatory injections. 💉 They’re very painful but effective. At the same time, I started going to an endocrinologist to check what's wrong with my hormones. Apparently, the imbalance was caused by stress.
Right now, I'm so much better. 😌 All my hair grew back after a year, but it seems to be recurring from time to time. However, I don't stress about it as much now because I know what to do, so here are some dos and don’ts! 👌🏻
☑️ Do:
- Take biotin to ensure and strengthen the health of your hair and nails. 💅🏻
- Bask in the morning sun for Vitamin D. If you can't do that, there are tablets! 💊
- Use organic shampoos with less harmful chemicals.
❌ Don't:
- Shampoo 🧴 your hair every day. Lessen it by doing every other day to give your hair a break.
- Style your hair too much to avoid stressing it out with damage. Cut back on the hair spray, ironing, and blow-drying.
- Count your hair fall. Trust me, this will only stress you out more and cause more hair fall, haha! Try not to think about it. 🙅🏻♀️
