I read the book "Your Brain on Art" by Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross this summer

The book explores the subject of neuroaesthetics, which is a scientific field that aims to find the connection between neuroscience and aesthetics (like art, music, film, literature, etc)

In the book, the Authors highlight the importance of art to the brain, especially regarding mental health and longevity

You don't need a comprehensive background in neuroscience to understand the contents of this book because of how well-written the book is. The Authors do a great job of taking a complex subject and explaining it simply so that their audience can easily understand everything
