I like to read two books simultaneously when I'm trying to minimize how much technology I use in a day (especially since my job requires me to be glued to my laptop for long periods throughout the day)
In addition to reading "The Body Keeps The Score" by Kolk, I decided also to read "What Strange Paradise" by Omar El Akkad
"What Strange Paradise" tells the story of a Syrian refugee boy named Amir, whose body gets washed up on shore while escaping war. His body is found by Vanna, a teenage girl who although native to the Island where she found Amir, experiences homelessness.
It is a story of two young children navigating a hostile world.
This book is one of my most anticipated reads for 2023 and I have massive hopes for it! Stay tuned for the review!
