Movie & Show Recommendations: My faves🍿

These are my recommendations based on my all-time favorite shows and movies. These are just my cup of tea but I think they’re great and y’all should try them out.

MOVIES:

Clueless🛍- Iconic, fun rom com/ chick flick that you HAVE to watch if you love girly movies or 90s movies. Overall it’s just a movie about a rich high school girl and her friends going to school in Cali, with some little romance storylines throughout. The characters are well written and there is def a lot of character development despite this being a simple and fun movie. Plus the outfits are revolutionary. If you still haven’t seen this movie it is a NECESSITY.

Mamma Mia!🪩- My favorite movie ever! This is a musical with songs exclusively by ABBA(70s disco band). After I watched this for the first time I became obsessed with ABBA. The plot is essentially a girl inviting her three potential fathers to her wedding without her mother’s knowledge. They live and own a hotel in Greece so the set is gorgeous. It is super fun and stars Amanda Seyfried and Meryl Streep so yk it’s good ;)

Mid90s🛹- Simple coming-of-age skate story directed by Jonah Hill. It follows a young boy who’s trying to make his way into the group of cool skater boys. The characters feel very real and you feel for all of them. This movie sent me into my skater girl era although I learned absolutely nothing lol, but it’s a really good and calming movie. It’s also an A24 movie so it has that specific vibe iykyk

Teen Beach Movie🌊- This is my guilty pleasure movie. I watched this for the first time when I was like 9 because it’s obviously a Disney original movie butttt it’s so good. The movie is about a couple(?) that get transported into a movie (parody of west side story) and try to find a way out. I’m 20 now but the songs still hit so this is a 10/10

SHOWS:

Abbot Elementary👩‍🏫- Me and ABC comedy shows are like this 🤞. It’s shot like a teacher reality show and it’s very funny. It’s won many awards too just to let y’all know how good it is. It also lines up with my career so that’s a little plus for me:)

That 70s Show🍃- My favorite show in the world!! I’ve actually never finished the last season bc they changed writers and the show kinda went to 💩 but the other seasons are master pieces. It’s funny, has a good plot and has great sets/wardrobe so it actually looks set in the 70s. The show is about a group of friends and the wild stuff they get up to. (If you watch the show you’ll get why I gave it a leaf;)

WHERE TO WATCH: Peacock

Avatar: The Last Airbender⬇️- I cried when this show ended… Anyways the show is about a group of friends in a universe where there are tribes based off the elements. They’re also trying to save world after a 100 year war. For a kids show, this actually such a well written show with somewhat serious topics but it’s also funny and lighthearted at times.

Attack on Titan🕊️- My bf who loves anime recommended this show as a starter anime so this is the first anime I ever watched on my own. The show has a lot of twists and turns but overall it’s about the human race fighting against titans(mysterious man eating monsters). The show l focuses on one group of friends who join the fight against the titans. Like I said, the plot is kind of complex, but so entertaining. It’s an intense action filled show with sweet moments as well, but I would recommend watching if you can stand somewhat “strong” (cartoon) v¡0lence and like shows with a little edge.
