dr martens is one of my favourite shoemakers. they last for YEARS and the varied styles always add that effortless edge to any outfit.

here are all the different dr martens that i own, and how i style them.

01 ELPHIE

this is a ballerina lace-up, which i really love!! i would never wear flats cos i hate how boring and office-ladyish they appear. but slap them on gum soles and i’ll wear them every single day :p i’ve styled mine with a flowy tube top and denim cut-offs, with my balenciaga city mini.

02 UNBOUND BEX

for girls who are on the petite side, a 6-eye boot looks better than an 8-eye boot, cos it elongates your legs. dr martens shoes are chunky by nature, so the last thing you want is to chop your legs off at the calf, especially if you plan on pairing them with short skirts. i’ve styled my 6-eye boot here with a pair of olive skirts, vintage top, and miumiu top handle bag.

03 BETHAN

channeling my inner CLUELESS (90s movie) character here with platform creepers~ bethan is a maryjane style that goes really well with mini dresses. i paired them with white socks and an old chain/quilted bag from asos. disclaimer: these look good but after wearing them (albeit not frequently) for 3+ years, they still hurt me everywhere omg. this is one pair i simply CANNOT break in, no matter what i do.

04 VOSS FLUFFY

honestly i don’t care what anyone says about fluff on shoes… whether they look like bedroom slippers or not, i honestly couldn’t give a hoot 😂 here i’ve paired it with an a-line maxi dress from pomelo fashion. these sandals are seriously comfy, and despite their chunkiness, they’re not as heavy as you might imagine.

05 CHELSEA

ahhh the classic chelsea boot! by far my favourite of the lot. i love pairing this with baggy trousers or short skirts. i tried them on with denim shorts and omg dudes, i looked like i was about to go on a 2d1n fishing trip/heading to the fish market to hawk my freshly caught fish. in other words, not a good look on me lol. but with straight legged jeans or baggy jeans, they look super good. the version that i got was the hi instead of the low, cos i felt the latter looks a bit more… fishermanish lol. i’m happy to report that they don’t make me look too short, so alls good!

if you’re planning to get a new pair of docs or want new ideas on how to style your existing pairs, i hope these are helpful! p.s. for reference, i’m 158cm tall.
