How to Combat Shrinkage

one of the biggest struggles of having curly/coily hair is constantly dealing with shrinkage.

shrinkage is a sign of healthy hair because it means the protein bonds and elasticity in your hair are strong. it also reflects your true curl pattern.

however, my hair tends to dry flat and small and i’m just not a fan of how that looks on me! so to get some length and volume, i do a heatless stretch ☺️

i take all my hair and pull it to the front/top of my head and wrap a big satin scrunchie around it while also moving the scrunchie down the length of my “unicorn horn” 🦄 without going all the way to the ends of my hair

once it’s set, i wait at least 15 minutes (longer if i have more time) and then take it out and fluff my hair to see the look i really wanted 😌
