The Most Intimidating Book I Own

I have never read a book that was as complexly written as House of Leaves. I keep putting off trying to read it only because I still feel like I’m “not ready” to tackle a book like this. However, I kind of want to try to finish this by Halloween for the spooky vibes!

This book, without getting too much into it, is about a house that is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. It’s best to go into this book blind because apparently this book is WILD. I’ve only ever gotten like 100 pages in before I just gave up 😭. I WANT TO CHALLENGE MYSELF TO FINISH IT!! I also want to read other intimidating books like Blood Meridian and Infinite Jest, so I feel like House of Leaves is a good start to challenge myself to read more complexly written books!

Do you have any challenging books you want to read next? Or what has been the most intimidating book you’ve read? I think for me, so far Pride & Prejudice has intimidated me the most. It took me a bit to get used to Jane Austen’s writing style.
