HOW TO MAKE YOUR MAKE UP LAST ALL DAY

It has consistently been over 105° in Austin for a record-breaking number of days. But this doesn’t mean I don’t want my make up looking incredible always!

Today, I'm going to share with you a couple of my tips for having your make up last all day, even in insane heat!

The first and most obvious tip is to get a good setting spray. It has taken me quite a while to find one that I like the best but for now I am using the Milk Makeup Pore Eclipse Matte Setting Spray ($38). During other seasons, I like to use some thing a little bit more glowy, but this does a great job of keeping my oil and sweat at bay during hot summer days.

TIP: get the most out of your setting spray by applying it to your face before your base product! You can also target certain areas by applying it to your sponge and blending.

Wearing less product will also drastically help with your make up lasting throughout the day. I like to switch to a skin tint or lighter coverage foundation during the summer months. I'm almost out of this one by Tower 28 Beauty ($32) which is actually just a tinted SPF. Skin tints are also great because they usually have a smaller shade range due to the lighter coverage which means it's easier to find a shade that will work for your skin tone!

My last tip is to use powder strategically! It is super uncomfortable to have powder all over your face, especially in the heat so I like to apply it just in the areas where I know that my make up will fade quickest period for me. That is usually my nose and my chin!

TIP: I love using a velour powder puff to apply powder in concentrated areas. You can also find travel size ones to slip in your purse for on the go touch ups!
