Your body needs rest days! So please please take them!

I used to think “more is better” but really your body needs to recover and have a rest day to rebuild.

There are some days when I feel like I “have” to workout vs I “get to” and I know them that it’s a good day to take a rest day but here are some other signs!

Signs to take a rest day:

1. You’re really sore!

2. You’re dreading your workout.

3. You warmed up and are still not into your workout.

I do a 5 minute rule. If I’m still not feeling a run or workout after 5 mins, I stop! Some days it’s just that you need it take the first step type thing and you’re good to go and some days your body is saying you need to take off.

4. You’re sick or injured.

This is when you really should let your body recover.

5. Your resting heart rate is high.

This is a good sign that your body is stressed and you’re not getting enough rest and recovery.
