As a teenage christian, it’s hard to not have negative thoughts & „take revenge.”

„Do not repay anyone evil for evil”

- This is a great thing for teenagers. In this generation, it is so easy to „gossip” and „get revenge.” But, God says to not repay anyone evil for evil. This is essentially saying just because someone did a evil thing to you, you do not have to repay that. God will take care of it. It may be hard, but God’s plan is greater than anything.

„Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

- Whenever you are met with evil, it is the Devil working through the person. He wants us to hate God, but we need to realize that God is the best way to be overcome by the situation. We are human and we make mistakes, but God is with us all the time!!

When we are wronged, we can easily feel tempted to retaliate, defend ourselves and seek revenge. But Paul says there is a better way.

Towards the end of Romans 12, Paul considers how we should respond when people seek to do us harm, and he describes two responses: how God responds, and how we are to respond.

We saw that the wrath of God is not wild and unrestrained, but measured, and directed towards the eradication of evil for the purpose of establishing justice. Whilst many of us find the idea of a God who gets angry difficult, Liam argued that we actually need a God who gets angry at injustice, since a God who did not get angry at injustice would not be truly loving! We see His commitment to love and justice most clearly at the cross. Because of the death and resurrection of Jesus, we should have confidence and hope that God will eventually deal with all injustice and make this world new.
