Here are 2 breakfast spots you have to try in Bangkok!

On Luk Yun

🕐 Opening Hours: Everyday, 6am-2.30pm

On Lok Yun is a traditional coffee shop that serves classic Western and Asian breakfast and brunch dishes

It’s a very popular place, so we had to wait for about 20 minutes before it was our turn

It definitely reminded me of our local breakfast delights and scene, especially with the classic coffee shop look

🥣 Breakfast set

Comes with sausages, ham, bacon, chinese sausage, scrambled eggs (90 baht): The star of the show was the scrambled eggs, they were the right amount of fluffiness. Overall the ingredients went really well with the chilli sauce (free)

🍞 Toast with butter and sugar (25 baht): I really enjoyed this one, the toast was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Pairing it with the soft boiled eggs was so delicious!

🥚 Soft boiled eggs (25 baht): Reminded me of our local breakfast, can’t really go wrong with this!

☕️ Iced signature coffee (35 baht): The coffee was really nutty which I really liked!

🫖 Tea (free flow): Nothing memorable, but I enjoy tea so I loved it :-)

Overall rating: 4.5/5

Not the most convenient by train or bus, but you can consider grabbing as it’s rather affordable! Definitely worth a visit, the food is affordable and so nostalgic~

Sarnies Bangkok

🕐 Opening Hours: Everyday, 8am-10pm

Sarnies Bangkok puts a personal twist to their dishes, where they serve Thai ingredients with the traditional Western breakfast items!

It’s a breakfast-brunch-dinner cafe which serves a large variety of dishes

The cafe has a vintage feel to it, especially with the bricks and concrete architecture

I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by their food, usually, a lot of cafes I visit for breakfast are pretty average, but the dishes we ordered were really good! It’s also a lot cheaper compared to the cafe food in Singapore!

🥣 Make your own breakfast

We got a sunny side up, scrambled eggs, 2 hashbrowns and brioche toast (170 baht): Everything on the plate was so good, especially the eggs. They were creamy and paired well with the crispy and not too oily hashborwns. The toast was normal, nothing to rave about

🍳 Tom Yum Eggs Benedict (400 baht): Was pretty shocked at the combo, but it worked so well! The spice of the tom yum and creaminess of the egg blended so well. I must say that on the last half, it got a little jelak but I still enjoyed it :-)

🍪 Cookie dough espresso shake (180 baht): Wasn’t too sweet, I liked the flavour of the cookie dough

🫖 Earl grey tea (120 baht): Nothing special, but I appreciated how big the teapot was, it was never-ending!

I really enjoyed the breakfast here, felt really satisfied after the meal. Although it’s on the more expensive side, I feel it’s worth a visit! They did a good job with the food :-)
