Posing Couples For Photoshoots

I love photographing couples. Whether they are engagement, anniversary or just update photos.

Here are some posing tips that’ll guarantee you fun, intimate and authentic loving images.

1: have your couples talk to each other and crack a joke a two. This will take away some of the awkwardness of being vulnerable in front of the camera and put them in an element they are naturally used to.

2: use props like chairs, stools and couches to add dimension and contrast. This beautiful mauve couch not only allowed for the couple to get cozy but it also added a pop of color to this moody portrait.

3: If your couples are ok with it, tell them to share a kiss, hug or a cuddle. I always love a little tickling moment to get genuine laughter out of them too !

5: not so much of a posing tip but play some really good music. Ask them what they’re current listening to or who their favorite artist is. 9 times out of 10, they always end up dancing, singing to each other and sharing an intimate moment. This is when you just step back, stay quiet and snap away !!!!
