⭐️ recovery

👉🏼 recovery is so beyond important, probably one of the most important things in running. without recovery running would be a sport full of injuries. make sure you have recovery runs after hard workouts and that you are making time for recovery. if you don’t add recovery to your running schudele, your going to get a lot of injuries that are normally very easily avoided.

GOOD RECOVERIES AFTER HARD RUNS:

⭐️ 10-15 EASY run

⭐️ icing or taking ice bath

⭐️ cross training (biking)

⭐️ easy swim

⭐️ stretching

make sure on recovery days your doing something (so don’t just be sitting on the couch all day) but make time for something small that’s listed on the list up there. ( i did not list every single recovery that there is so any would be fine )

⭐️rest

👉🏼 this is pretty much the same thing as recovery except your doing nothing! resting is such a key part of running and personally resting is so hard for me but with resting your avoiding injuries that are easily avoidable. remember resting is NOT lazy it is giving your body a break.

⭐️ eat good foods

👉🏼 eating good will effect your running a lot, more than you realize. having protein and carbohydrates is so important to being a good runner. making sure your eating enough and keeping your body fueled because food is basically your fuel for running.

⭐️ knowing the difference between pushing yourself and overdoing it

👉🏼 you should 100% push yourself as a runner. that is 100% true, but knowing the difference between pushing yourself and overdoing it is hard. overdoing it causes injuries, that is why working in rest days and recovery days is such a great idea.
