let’s talk wedding cake

I got married a year ago and I LOVED how my wedding turned out- especially my cake.

I’m definitely more of a simple girl and I new I wanted my wedding to be simple too. So when it came to a wedding cake- I new a naked cake would be PERFECT.

I love how naked cakes looks so simple but yet so timeless and classy. And then when you add your wedding flowers to it- it really couldn’t look better (at least to me)

So when it got closer to our wedding and we were trying to figure out who would make this cake for us, my mother in law offered to make the cake for us. She’s made a lot of cakes before and she figured a naked cake would be pretty easy to make and to top it off it would be WAY ✨cheaper✨ than buying a cake. And so that’s what we did!

I was a little nervous at first because I wasn’t sure if it would turn out. But she practiced before and she made the yummiest cake ever 🤤- banana cream cheese.

Of course it wasn’t perfect- especially if you compare it to the inspo pics I used- but it was perfect for us! Our florist saved some of the flowers she used for our bouquets and so we just placed those on top!

If you are wanting a ✨simple, cheap, and elegant✨ wedding cake? I definitely suggest going for a naked cake!
