Happy Heavenly birthday, mum 🤍

In July 2020, I lost my amazing mum to lung cancer. She put up a courageous four month long fight against this gnarly beast. I'm beyond proud of her for fighting for every single second she had with her family. She was only 56 years old and had so much life ahead of her with 5 young grandchildren, three daughters, and a husband of 40+ years. She was the life of the party and always cracking jokes, laughing and smiling. She never let her sparkle dim even during the most hellacious days of treatment. She pushed onward to spend as much time as she could with all of us, especially her grandchildren. They miss their GiGi dearly. I hope she can hear us singing "Happy Birthday" tonight all the way in Heaven.

I don't talk about the daily heartache, but life has felt empty since she left us. Her laughter always filled the room. It constantly feels like something is missing. We go through the motions, but it's abundantly clear that her absence is loud and deafening. I don't think I'll ever get over losing my mother, my best friend.
