My morning routine has become very important to me since becoming a mother! It totally sets the tone for my day and so I take it very seriously to ensure that everything runs smoothly — for the sake of my babies and myself!!
My routines can change depending on the season and we’ve recently been starting our day with a walk. I swear this has drastically changed our moods and our day! To get fresh air first thing in the morning has been immensely grounding for me and my babies, and it allows me to think my thoughts and mentally prepare for my day ahead. Sometimes I listen to a podcast to which I’ve been loving because I don’t always have time to listen to them anymore. (I’m a Rogan girl)
I immediately follow up with my morning cup of coffee. I intentionally wait to drink my coffee about 90 minutes to allow my cortisol levels to naturally level out in my body. This really helps prevent midday, crashes, irritability, and it encourages a healthy circadian rhythm. Which means you sleep much better at night! I’ve also noticed that my body can handle the caffeine much better.
Just these two little morning routine steps has really helped my mental health and overall flow of my day. Highly recommend!
