Yosemite National Park Itinerary

Yosemite is one of the crown jewel’s of the National Parks system. If you’re wanting to visit this summer, then I’ve got you! Here’s a 3 day itinerary to make the most of your summer vacation to Yosemite.

I HIGHLY recommend staying inside the park since lines to get in the park can get long and traffic gets congested. I stayed in the cabins in Yosemite Village and loved them! I’ve also stayed right outside the park in El Portal before which is also convenient to get inside the park.

Day 1: Head to Tuolumne Meadows and hike Cloud’s Rest to one of the most iconic views in Yosemite. You’ll want to budget the whole day for this to really enjoy the views!

Day 2: Spend the day along the Merced River and exploring Yosemite Valley! I highly recommend getting up for sunrise in order to enjoy the wildlife.

Day 3: Hike the Mist Trail! Bonus: if you get a permit to hike the cables for Half Dome then you can hike up Half Dome as well.

I visited Yosemite over 4th of July weekend last year and while it was crowded at spots there was also opportunities for solitude!
