Mental Checklist to soothe a crying baby.

If none of these work or if the last one is what’s going on just know it’s okay! Try to have someone else take over so you can take a little breather. If no one else is available and you need a second, it IS okay to set baby down in a safe spot for just a minute.

Period of purple crying is defined as a period of crying for no apparent reason. This crying period means that there is a beginning and an end. If crying goes on for a long time, it’s likely something else is happening.

Colic is defined as frequent, prolonged and intense crying or fussiness in an healthy baby. Colic has an unknown cause but is thought to be something with baby’s digestive or bowel functions.
