Who Says A Hijabi Can’t Slay A Y2K Look?

The term "Y2K" refers to the year 2000 and the maximalist silhouettes of celebrities like Christina Aguilera, Paris Hilton, and Britney Spears, which evoke nostalgic memories of the late 90s and early 2000s pop culture. At the period, celebrities were recognized for their edgy, rebellious, and young looks, which were reflected in their use of vibrant color schemes, low-rise distressed jeans, indoor sunglasses, midi skirts, and layered tees. I know what you girls are probably thinking ….. how can a hijabi possibly relate to this am I right? Well you can and I’m gonna show just how to do it with a recent outfit that I wore recently!

I think it is fair to say that we are left with minimal options to play around with when it comes to this trend. So to keep my Y2k Self at par I wore an electric green oversized graphic Tshirt with a pair of white pants to balance the whole outfit. Pairing it with a chunky sandal from Hnm & accessorising it with a handle like bag with a pair of indoor sunnies to fit the whole vibe. Ofcourse there are other ways you could make it more Y2K than my average look haha but my minimal self could not lie my way into this trend and this is as Y2K as it gets ✊🏻
